Production numbers ?

Anyone know how many `79 P/U's were made ? Model breakdown would be really cool, but any numbers would be good to know. Thanks !!!

The only information I have is that the production was over 196,000 pickups. It gives no detail on breakdown per model.

I found this (1967-1972 Ford Pickup Production Numbers - FORDification.com), but it's for bump sides. There must be a similar thing out there for the dentsides ?

1979 F100/350 Total Production Figures:

F100: 225,893

F150: 400,399.

F250: 189,743.

F350: 72,874.

Source: The Standard Catalog of Light Duty Ford Trucks / krause.com / ISBN: 0-87349-411-3.

Prior to 1973, this book breaks down the figures according to how many were: F100's, F250's, F350's / Stylesides, Flaresides, 2WD's & 4WD's.

1973/79: This book also shows the percentage of how many had: P/S, P/B, 4WD, Cruise Control, Tilt Wheel, and etc.

And...codes for the colors, decoding of VIN's, engine & chassis info, what came with certain packages, historical data and etc etc etc.

1979: If you need additional breakdowns of these figures as to how many were Stylesides, Flaresides, etc., you'll have to get them from martiauto.com.

In the late 1980's, Ford was planning on throwing away all these figures and more...from 1967 thru 1979 into the TRASH!

Kevin Marti, a Mustang nut from Phoenix AZ found out about this and got ALL of it.

There is a fee for this service, which is known as a Marti Report.

Marti can also provide a copy of your original window sticker, build sheet, and etc.
