Question Sliding Door Will Not Lock ??

I have electric locks, but not keyless. I can hit the elec 'lock' button on the driver door, and all lock knobs go down. But if I turn the outside handle on the slider door, it opens.

I can use my key on that slider to lock it, but same thing, when I turn the handle it opens. Any thoughts as to why this is happening? Something inside is not actually locking. It looks to be from visual appearance with the knob going down, but it will not lock...

Appreciate any input on this, Greg

Open up the inside door trim panel, take a scope / light and look inside to see what is not working.

Chances are, there is corrosion (you don't tell us age etc.) so penetrating oil and elbow grease...

I've got the same problem with my 91 E-250 but haven't really looked into it as i have bigger problems with the engine. Post up what you find some others can learn.
