The classified are basic but very easy to navigate. They have a great site, read simple, site without a load of ads...
Bob I agree. I really like the HAMB. I spend a LOT more time there then on FTE. I also like the FORDBARN. Both sites are easier to navigate and pages load faster. Because of that combination I find I purchase more from those sites vendors/sponsors.

But hands down the FTE has more knowledge about our trucks. When I am on the other sites and someone asks an involved question about our trucks, I provide a link to this forum and tell them to do a search on the question (I didn't realize, as AX points out, that they can't do a search). Recently I have noticed special interest groups growing on the other sites. So the knowledge is spreading.

bobj49f2 has a good reputation on FTE. bobj49f2 has a good reputation on FTE.
Just one more added gripe about the classified.

I tried to check out the "Parts for sale" section and you can only check from 1950 and up, unless I'm doing it wrong. As far as I can see this entire site caters to all for Ford truck, all the way from the beginning of Ford production. The last time I checked, and I know I'm no expert on any other vintage than '48-52 (Well, I know a little more about them than the other years), but I think Ford made trucks before 1950. If they didn't then I have two counterfeit truck with Ford labeling.

What I'm doing, and I notice others doing, to help newbies is to include links to past threads to get them around the search function. Just about all the sites I hang around (HAMB, 'barn, YT, STT, OldIHC, Stovebolt, and EFV8) have aspects about them that are more user friendly. But there's no getting around the fact that info specific to Ford trucks is best here. Stu

Stu I commend your efforts to help fellow truck owners find the right information they need. I see your posts quite often in the sites you mentioned. Your advice is always on target and useful.

But honestly as this site has become harder to use, I have become less enchanted with it. As a result I dont spend as much time here and I don't feel as comfortable recommending this site to a new user that cannot search for needed information. That said, this site still has the most useful information about our trucks. But that is changing. If you ask a Ford truck specific question on HAMB, Fordbarn, YT or EFV8 you are likely to get a good answer, possibly even from a fellow FTEer.
