Newb with a fuel question

I bought a 97 350 with 155k back in September and love the truck. It is all stock, for now. I was looking at it today and I noticed that there was a leak on the drivers side crossmember. I investigated and it looks like it is the fuel lines that go up the front of the engine. They are covered in rust so I assume that is where the leak is coming from. Has anyone else had this problem before and how hard is it to take care of? Thank you all for your insight.

No, I haven't had that problem. I would try to clean up the area and then let the truck run to maybe see where its leaking from. If its in the rusted line its probably a pin hole leak, for now. I believe you can cut out a section and flare the ends and insert a section of replacement hose. Or, cut it and use diesel rated hose and put in a piece and clamp it down. That would be a temp way to fix it.

Do you think I would be able to get that line at the stealership? I was thoroughly dissapointed when I noticed that I had a fuel leak.

I would say no on the stealership, I went there yesterday for the heater hose with the tee and the 90 that goes into the bottom of the rad and they are obsolete. They said nothing after 10 years unless it was a problem. Have you thought about changing your hoses, mine are orig.and thought 12 years hoses should be changed. Maybe a mistake, but I am definately going with the CAT EXTENDED LIFE COOLANT so I don't have to add that expensive additive.
