Ok, in my previous thread I mentioned that my "new" 1999 Explorer was making some high pitched squeaking noises that reminded me of 4WD being locked in.
I have now found out that it is only half of the problem. This morning I went out to go to work and while it was just sitting there idleing I noticed it was making that same high-pitched squeak (churp). It is an intermitent noise which makes me think that it might have to do with the belt. What do you think?
Easiest thing to do to investigate is to remove the belt and crank it up for few seconds and see if the chirp goes away. Could be the belt, idler pulley or tensioner pulley. If the noise still persist without the belt suspect the camshaft sensor.
