steel freeze plugs for ebpv removal?

getting ready to remove the butterfly in the housing, i could only find steel plugs in the local advance auto parts, no one else had them, itm just trying to make sure there not going to melt and blow hot exhaust under my hood.

To clarify what you said if i am right for everybody. The pistons will melt before the steel in the turbo. That reminds me of a friend who had the idi 7.3 diesel he cranked his injector pump up so much the pistons literally melted no joke.
