New guy in San Francisco

Hey all. I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I'm the proud new owner of a 1951 F-1. The truck is nearly all original, with about 51,000 miles on it. 5-star cab, 226 inline 6 and the 4-speed manual. I'm the 4th owner. The original owner bought it in ID and took really good care of it until he died. A nephew inhereted it and let the thing sit outside for quite a while (which will explain the exterior appearance when ever I manage to get some pictures of thing up here). A guy in Spokane who's really into old trucks and flathead fords bought it, did some mior work to it (rebuilt the brakes, new engine electrical equip, rebuilt the carb, ect.) and got the truck up and running really well (runs like a top and drives like new). He had it for about two years and decided to sell it once he got a new 46 Ford truck to rebuild (he likes the jailbars better). I just purchased it and am trying to find a way to get it down here to San Francisco.

I've been lurking around this forum for a while as I researched my purchase, and now that I've finally got a truck I decided to sign up. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from the accumulated knowledge here and contributing any way I can.

Nice intro Dick!

You will get a lot of help in the tech forums so don't be shy about posting questions or comments in them. By all means, post pictures of the truck, we all like viewing trucks like yours.

Enjoy making that '51 pretty and be sure to drop by your local chapter: Western Region - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

Thanks

Thanks for the welcomes. hanklin, if you're ever out on Monterey Blvd near City College, look around as the truck will be parked outside for a while as I line up a garage.
