Octane Booster

Well, the local Chevron just stopped selling 94octane and they were the last place in town to get anything higher then 91.

Is there a good octane boost that I can buy here in BC? I know there are lots out there that barly raise the octaine (if at all), but I need to be able to raise 91 up to 93+.

I keep heard of a powder type that was available in the US, but I can't even remember the name

Thanks,

Jason

ouch, I feel for you. If the Chevron here stopped selling it I'd go berzerk! My little car runs so much better with it. I laugh at people that say "oh it doesn't make any difference".

Never heard of the powdered stuff. I have heard that most octane booster's do little or nothing.

Maybe step up to a diesel. Problem solved.

Ahhh now I remember. You are running the SCT right.

Well, according to the Guy that installed the new pumps here, Chevron is phasing out the 94, one station at a time.

Not only do I have the SCT, but I run it in my sled when I get gas from the pump (ussually have a barrel stored away in my dad's shed with 91 mixed with a little av gas) Technically, my sled is safe with 91, but better to be safe then sorry. I was also thinking of getting a high compression head, but would need more then 91 for it

Oh, I know I could build up my 600 to run on 110 and make 140-150HP, but it is way beyond my budget.

Do you sled?

My sled cannot be run on pump gas, due to the boost it needs more octane.
I buy race gas in a drum, and mix it 50/50 with pump gas, and then run that.

I cannot tell you where to buy extra high octane pump gas though.
I don't see it sold anywhere here.

adding Bi-Tron fuel conditioner to regular gas gives better performance than priemium and adding the octain booster it gives 110 octain, for less money than av gas

My 600 might not fit in to well with your group

I am thinking about making an offer on an 07 800 Summit that is at the dealer, but I severly doupt he will deal down to what I am willing to pay for it.
