Never understood the logic there. How is wrapping headers a problem when ceramic coating is not? If the header is made well (as in no thin cheap flanges and tubing; hedman, flowtech, etc) there are no ill effects that I've ever seen.
All I know is keeping the heat in the exhaust means more velocity and scavenging and that I never had sealing, warpage, weld, or rust issues with the headers after wrapping and painting. Plus it keeps underhood temps way down.

Say whaaa?? Wrap is flexible... I really don't agree that wrap will prevent metal from expanding and contracting. Maybe if it was a continuous hard and well adhered surface coating, like ceramic, that doesn't flex/stretch much before cracking, it might prevent the metal from expanding.
