DWhittaker is starting off with a positive reputation.
Tow/Haul mode

I recently towed my 10k 5th wheel 550 miles in tow/haul mode and the tranny downshifted very smoothly. Yesterday I towed my Brother in Laws 5th wheel for service and the downshifts were very jerky at times. Should this be taken to the dealer to look at? The truck has 3500 miles on it.

Did you readjust the TBC to compensate for the difference in his brakes as compared to yours?

senix is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE. senix is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
always gotta adjust the gain according to the load.

My best way to do this is to hook up go about 25 mph and adjust the gain using the manual lever on the TBC. Trailer should be able to stop both at this point.

Adjust as necessary.

Sounds like his trailer is pushing your truck when braking instead of helping to stop it.
