Oil grrr lubriguard?

I told my buddy I wanted Rotella T.
And didn't look last night when I put the box in my truck, cause the bottles are almost identical.

He got me Lubriguard.
I just messaged him and bitched.
He says it better.

Anyone used it?
It says its for Cummings and other ULSD motors.
I drop 50 dollar on oil. I dont want to waste my money.
I have to put it in though, cause i already drained motor.

All the info on google was stuff like for their websight. I didn't see anything comparing it, and found nothing when searching for lubricity.

It's CUMMINS, not CUMMINGS for starters!
Someone recently posted a new oil analysis test that compares how good the popular oils are, you might try to dig it up. May have been in the SD forum, can't remember now.

Last I read, Rotella T was on the top

Who cares if its cummnings or cummings.
i dont care.
Go ram your dodge somwehere else,
like a tree.

hahaha

I like the cummins motor.
but i'm glad you were paying attention.
I just spell checkedd it and didn't pay attention to the result.
Cause i typed it with 1 m.

Talyn, I do not know anything about lubriguard. I don't know that I would use it in my truck. Call me scared or whatever, but I only use what I know works. My .02

Well, my buddy is a manager of a parts store for a reason, ya know what I mean?
I trust him a lot, but some things he just doesn't know much about.
Like Diesels.
Everyone uses Rotella T for a reason, ya know? And I know this.
He is telling me though, that he is not selling much rotella at all though. Which is quite odd.

For a cummings or duramax, this oil might be better, but I"m not sure.
blackstone apparently doesn't like new customers. I put in order for test kit, and never got it.

Who else can i get analysis from?
I'll be sure to send this in when I drain it.

I just so worried cause our trucks are kinda oil picky, and with 265k miles on my truck, its important I lubricate properly.

Talyn, I'll see if I can find the report I was talking about here in a bit. In that one, Rotella T dino oil didn't rate as well as the Rotella Synth, the Delo, or some of the other popular oils. I've never heard of Lubriguard, I wouldn't want to run it w/o knowing more about it.

i know we put some in my buddys SD when we started it for its last time b/c we were going to change the oil shortly after anyways so it was CHEAP and we just wanted to use it to clean the system a little and change it about 20 minutes later. It was the thinnest crap i have ever felt thats for a diesel. i felt a difference between that and the Delo that i use. that lubriguard is some cheap crap and you know like i do you get what you pay for.

I found it over there buddy.
the oil isn't even listed,
but neither is shaffers.

It was pretty thick (the lubriguard)
i was supprised there. but duno.
its cold out here.
was snowing while i was changing my oil.

The oil was still like 15 a qt.
The truck is louder. I'ma run it for a bit though then change it out again and get a lab test on it.

the oil.. if you don't have a good quality oil in these trucks they will not start right. i know when we did my buddys injectors in that SD the 3 times it always fired after about 10 seconds or so of cranking. we cranked it after we put the heads back on it with the lubriguard and we had to hook up the jumper cables to my truck and we tried cranking for 10 seconds 4 times then finally i got in it and told him if i fry the starter i will buy you another. cranked it for probably 30 seconds solid and it finally sputtered then fired. that mighta been the oil b/c it started right up to back off the trailer before we tore it apart even though apparently the block was cracked.. haha

15w40.

The sucker is really loud at start-up in the morning, but quiets down when the engine warms up more.

I'm still not sure what I want to do.
