Nice numbers!!! I wonder how it will compare to the 6.8 v10 in the superduty for pulling power ( since its peak torque will be at 4500 rpms and peak power at 5500 rpms) Either way they need to put this as an option for the complete f150 line. I can see it now .... f150 with 12000lbs+ tow rating.

I would imagine they went the 2-valve route mostly for the sake of limiting the complexity of the engine and maintaining cost savings. Also, now that they've got the larger diameter cylinder bore to work with, adding a decent sized set of valves to the new head design shouldn't result in the shrouding or low speed turbulence issues that arose when adding them to the early Modular 2-valve casting. The small bore and bore spacing of the previous 4.6L/5.4L modular family really limited their flow and low lift velocity potential with only two valves per cylinder.....such is not likely the case with the big bore Boss platform.

Figure...at least seven grand for an engine swap at a dealership, and the dealer wouldn't give you a penny for the engine they removed.
Swapping engines...how will this affect the factory warranty?
I'd buy a 2010 NOW...if Ford offered the 6.2L in a F150 besides the Raptor.
As far as other automakers playing catchup, both Nissan and Toyota offer DOHC 32 valve V8's.
After owning both a 2004 F150 5.4L 300 HP Lariat C/C and a 2006 Titan 5.6L 317 HP SE C/C, the Titan's engine ran circles around the anemic 5.4L that when dyno'd put out a measly 242 RWHP.
The Titan's 5.6L dyno'd to 291 RWHP.

On another thought when does anyone think we will see a 500+ horsepower stock half-ton in a non SVT or off road race truck configuration?
