Throttle body spacer and AOD

I installed a 94 efi 351w in my 86 f150. The engine had a throttle body spacer on it. I left it on (it was running fine with it why take it off). Well here is the problem, the AOD has a early 2-3 (30mph) shift and 3-4 (35) shift. The mechanic said he cant adjust the cable correctly possibly because of the TB spacer. I have put over 200 mi on the trans shifting in to od at 50 mph. Do I need to remove the TB Spacer?

Thanks

The cable can't adjust for the additional 2 in of the TB Spacer. No one else ever had problems with this.

You could probably make a custom cable.

Take the spacer off. A throttle body spacer may be of benefit with Chevys TBI setup but not much use with the superior Ford multi-point injection system.
Just my thoughts.
