with the 2" lift add a leaf kit i just stumbled apon (Skyjacker 1967-77 Ford F250 High Boy 4WD 2" Lift Kit) Would the steering have to be altered or could everything stay the same? Would just the add a leafs be all i would need?
I just saw on one thread that 38's are SUPPOSED to fit stock on a brand new highboy, so i figured maybe by replacing all springs along with an add-a-leaf that some 38.5's would fit perfectly.
I'm going to take a look at the truck today. . . it won't be started up though because the owner is in florida so he is just having his son show it to us and his son doesn't know where the keys are. lets hope it looks nice.

Connect a power wire to the positive side of the coil then jump the solenoid with a screwdriver, problem solved. No keys required.

Hot starting old fords is easy. As mentioned above it can be a piece of cake, however, it is also just as easy to purchase a complete key assembly at your local parts store, and siimply unplug the harness from the old switch abd connect it to the new one. Then you can operate the truck normally.
For a small investment, this option is reasonable. Plus, it might be something that you will have to purchase anyway.
i took a look at it today. It NEEDS headers. THe old ones are rusted through, you could put your finger through one side of a pipe on the headers and out the other. the shifter shaft is really crooked and facing sideways (are the shifter shafts unscrewable so that i could just screw it in the rest of the way until its facing normal?) the sidepanel on the door is ripped up and quite frankly pretty floppy, the seat is also ripped up right to/and through some of the foam so a new seat would be needed, but other than that the truck seems to be pretty good (and it need a powersteering assist valve. . . anyone know how much a new one would cost, like 8.99?)
Thanks.
