Hubcentric rims? ..tire questions

I have been looking at getting new rims and tires..There are some that are hubcentric and others arent..Woudl i need the hubcentric ones due to the hubs on my front wheels..I have an 08 f-250 xlt with 265 70 17's.. Also what is the biggest reccomended size i can put on my stock rims..

The hubcentric has nothing to do with 4x4 hubs. The design allows the weight of the truck to ride on the hub of the wheel versus the lug studs. Since '08 had the 20" wheels available with 34" tires you could go up to 33" or 34" without issue.

If the wheel fits tightly over the hub, the rim is called hub centric. if it doesn't, the rim is lug centric.

A hub centric rim transfers most of the load to the hub and the lugs and lug nuts basically hold the rim on the hub. With a lug centric rim, the lugs carry the load.

It is important to remember, if you get a lug centric rim you MUST use lug nuts with conical ends.

I have ESOF but I also have the optional manual locking hubs..that is what i am worried about..I have the 17's on there now.and i was looking at going to 18's or so so i can run a bigger tire.
