Sounds normal to me. Glo plugs pull a lot from the system when they are on.

If the glow plugs are within spec ohm wise, .5 to 1 ohm, they draw between 192 and 96 amps respectfully when heating.

yeah, and Dave just explained that cycle to me the other day.
after the WTS light goes out, there is a short time where you hear the relay clicking, well what this is,is keeping your gp's warm, waiting for you to start the engine.thus the reason durring this time, for the volt meter to bounce up/down cus its sending that high juice to your gp's.
so really,to help keep your cranking power/battery life,it then appears logical to start the engine right away to get the batteries charging once the WTS light goes out.

but in short.like Dave says, its normal.so run her.

that is your trucks way of saying "hey i work fine!" If it wasnt clicking at all then you would have a problem. Any issues starting?

I am used to gassers and I was not happy to see that at first, but you get used to it.
