cam recomendations

i have a 351M in my '79 f250, and would like to put a new cam in it, i want it to be lumpy, and for it to be torqy, cause i tow with it. i was wondering if anyone has recomendations for this, something i can maybe get off summit? aslo does anyone know the stock cams lift and duration?

You can't have both. A cam that idles rough won't make good power down low.

I recomend the extreme energy 256h from comp cams, nice powerfull rv cam..

The 268 Comp Cam has a noticable idle and pulls pretty strong in the midrange. I've also heard the 265 DEH is good as it favors the exhaust side more.

i'd definately use a dual pattern cam with D5(1975) or later heads, they need all the help they can get on the exhaust side and that's what the DEH cams are for.

don't forget that just about any aftermarket cam will need springs and/or retainers to avoid mechanical interference
