Leveling kit and tire size for 2009 f250 superduty 4x4

You can get the 35x12.5x17 or the metric equivalent for your wheels, but most of the tire manufacturers I've looked at recommend at a minimum an 8" wide wheel. The 17" wheels are 7.5" wide.
You'll want anything around 315 or under for section width (I'd got narrower) and 70, 75, 80 for the sidewall ratio/height. I've got 295 wide tires on my 17" wheels and think they are as wide as I'd want to go, so your mileage may vary.
BFG MT KM2 are now out in the size I'll likely get, a 255/80/17 which is about a 34" tire, relatively narrow.

Yeah, tire prices are ridiculous, absolutely. I have been looking at tires lately and it seems larger tires are so popular that they are outrageously priced for anything over a 17" wheel. I did find though that the BFG MT KM2 for the size I want is quite a bit less than some of the other "mud tires", at only $201 ea. Not too bad They came out with a 255/80/17, which is just about the perfect size for me (33.3" x 10.5) in a load range E. About the same height I have now (295/70/17) but narrower...me likey!

Nitto sells the Terra Grapplers in a 285/75/17 E (aprox 34" X 11.5) for the 17 x 7.5" rim. I have had them for about 15k and love them. They have great ratings and a low price. I got mine from discount tire direct. Free shipping and $205 a piece.

When I got my truck in 2005 there were no tire choices for 17" wheels, now there are a LOT more good tires, but they still seem to be wider than I'd like, but that's changing a lot too. I almost wanted 18" wheels instead of the 17s, but only because I wanted a 35x10.5 or so and there was a metric equivalent (I can't remember if it was a BFG or what), but at the time I couldn't find a 17" equivalent. Now I'm thinking a 33x10.5 will be better for me anyway. I guess it'd be best to have a few sets of wheels
