oil pressure gauge

factory gauge dropped to nothing....ran for another 5 mins at between 1000~1500 rpm with no wierd noises or clatter etc.

I need to use the truck today so place your bets...is it the gauge or the oil pump

My bet is the sending unit on the engine. It is located on the top, rear of the engine.

My factory gauge flickers between nothing and the middle of the normal reading. Sometimes it sits on the bottom for some time, but I've got a mechanical gauge, and it tells me I have a steady 25psi.
