Interesting information concerning inline Ford sixes

I came across this link while searching for horsepower and torque numbers for the 1972 3.9l (240 c.i.) that I've installed in my 1984 E150.

Of particular interest [to me] was that the inline six was first introduced by Henry Ford in 1906. It was discontinued about a year later because the engine design was tearing out transmissions!

There are lots of other noteworthy points and historical facts. I linked off of this site to another wikipedia page that states that Ford of Australia is still producing inline sixes for their Falcons.

I'd like to see Ford produce an inline 6 diesel, displacing between 4-5.5 l (240 - 345 c.i.). I'd love to have that in my E150!
