Where to put DP-tuner switch??

Hey all,

So am picking up my 2002 excursion with the 7.3 in orlando wednesday and driving back to richmond, va - but I am stopping by DP-tuner in Atlanta to have Jody set me up on Thursday morning.
First question - where do y'all put the switch?? As I do not have the vehicle, hard for me to speculate....
Also, I am wondering on whether to get the F5 or the F6 chip - $200 swing.....
I am thinking of a couple tunes - stock, 60tow, 80tow, 60econ, 80econ, drive-thru, and maybe....100performance for occasional fun!

This is a daily driver for me and my wife might drive it some.....

what do you all think?

I am very happy with my gauge-controller along with a Scangauge in a two-pod pillar unit. It's all in easy view and easy reach, but unobstrusive.

If you're made of money, those tunes sound great.

In reality, I find myself using either stock or 80E most of the time. 60T was great when I was towing, but unless you are going to tow varying loads at different times, you'd probably be just as happy with one.

Given what you're willing to spend, I'd recommend going with the F6 chip, one Economy mode, one Towing mode, and see if you feel like you need more when you run them.

I have found myself using the Decel tune whenever I descend a long grade, even when not towing.

Bobbarry, What is the top gauge? Is it a boost/Exhaust temp. gauge? And where did you get it?

jpcjguy, You shouldn't need the 60econo If you are getting 80econo. Jody told me when I ordered mine that 100perf. is about the same as 80econo. When I get the money I am going to get a tow tune to add to my 80econo,and 120race. Then I will be set.

It's a Scangauge (replied with link to your PM) that reads from the OBD-II port. I added the EGT sender, so it reads that on the upper readout and cycles through some temps (engine coolant, tranny, engine oil) on the bottom readout. Plenty of gauge feedback for my needs.

Only thing better would be if the DP-Tuner controls could be integrated with the singe scangauge...
