Was driving through the Ford lots yesterday and noticed that the 2010's, I assume, have a rubber or plastic black piece that comes down from the front bumper like some kind of undercarriage deflector. Anyone else notice this?
I wasn't aware that the clutch fans went away, E fans are good.

Looks side to side. Depends on what your doing, if you acutally own a truck to use it like a truck, no they don't work worth a crap. If you cruise the mall and soccer fields they'll work great.

Good point on the work issue. I've never had any personal issues with E fans and it seems like less drag on the engine.

Why don't e-fans work well when using your truck "like a truck"? They move more air, and can do so with the engine at idle. They tend to make the A/C work better since they can flow more air at idle, too.

Interesting. Where do you get your info from?
I once compared my dad's '10 F150 to my '08 F250 by lugging a 10,000 lb trailer up some hills as steep as 15 percent. Did it again and again and it didn't have a problem staying cool.
Ever wonder why the '10 F150 with it's "weak" E-fans has the exact same 11,000 lb tow capacity as the '09s? Do you think for a minute that Ford would have gone to an inferior setup if there was a shadow of a doubt that it would hold up in severe conditions? I mean, if the cooling system doesn't work well enough you can cook an engine, which will leave Ford with a very pricey repair and an angry customer.
Who here has ever overheated their '10 F150?

Interestingly enough at a local farm show Ford had thier 09 cut out F150 there. An 09. I noticed it had these "Extra" air deflectors, I asked the Ford guy why they "made" a new 2010 cut away? He said it was a 2009 but had a experimental engine. I went and looked an sure as Sugar it was the new 6.2L.
As far as e fans go, do pepole actually get close to over heating thier trucks anymore? Even IF they lost some capacity is it an issue, never mind the net HP gain...
As usual, it appears the person making the comments doesn't want to back them up.
Personally, I'd love to find a way to swap the 2010 e-fans into my 2009. It would likely make the A/C work better when idling, especially in Texas in August.

Amen brother!
I am looking at getting the Troyer kit for my 06. Only thing that makes me nervous is that I have only had one fan clutch go out on me and that was on a 81 El Camino with the 229 V6.
I talked to Troyer about a kit for the 09... so far, nothing. They say they're thinking about one... I know of two they could sell today if they'd introduce one.
Oh well, at least it'll be a few months until it gets blazing hot again and the A/C starts sucking.
