6.0 died but good

I am finally calm enough now after 4 months to think of fixing this thing This is what happened pulling my 5th wheel camper drove for about 1 1/2 hours then truck lost all power and died while I pulled over on side of road and would not even turn over after that myself and a friend tried to manually turn it over and it would not budge. recent work was to replace 2 injectors which I did myself but I was very careful especially with the feul rail. I have not even tried to start it since that day, I loaded it up onto the trailer went back got my 99 and pulled the dam thing home. All gauges seemed fine at the time and I did not hear any foreign noises. Any ideas of where to start would be appreciated as a used motor will run about 4K plus all of my time to replace it. Thanks

What mods does it have (besides the tuner)?

What things have you investigated and ruled out already (electrical, fuel supply, HPO, etc)?

Why did you choose to change two injectors?

Still have the EGR system? If so, was there any coolant loss or white smoke exhaust previously?

Any DTC's?

replaced 2 injectors after running like crap had it scanned and 2 showed as bad nothing done to it other than the tune running on tow mode

My truck did the same thing. I just left my house I was a couple miles down the road it lost power, the engine shook a little bit then died before I got it to the side of the road. I hit the ignition, the starter engaged but the engine wouldn't turn at all. Just towed it to the shop. They replaced the fuel module? $975. dollar repair. Then they called back and said it still wouldn't start. They said the engine is possibly hyrdolocked? I never heard of this. He said a bunch of fuel was dumped in causing the engine to seize. He said they would have to pull the glow plugs and do some other stuff another $600. in labor alone. They also said it's possible it could have damaged valves depending on what happened. I just took it in (11/02/09). I'll let you know what they say. It looks like it's heading for a total engine replacement. Big $$$$. I'll get it fixed and sell the piece of crap. I asked the shop if this happens often with the 6.0. He said yes. I will never buy another ford again.... Well unless it's a 7.3. Buy the way I just bought this truck and haven't even put 3000 miles on it. It's a 05 with 103K

ok first thing I would try is to remove all 8 glowplugs and turn engine over by hand. watch for liquid coming out of glowplug holes will tell you what cyclinder is/was locked up.
also check the 2 injectors you replaced and make sure the hold downs are still tight. We have had a few were the hold down is bad and causes a fuel leak passed the brass washer and in to the cyclinder.

I am in the prcess of making room in my shop as I think this will be a long drawn out affair will try the glowplug thing when I get it in thanks for the info
