Still chasing vibes- should my TC output have play?
For those of you not yet sick of hearing me chase down driveline vibes, I have a new question. When in neutral, I have some play at the transfer case output flange. Meaning I can wiggle the yoke side to side some and very little up and down. I have been monitoring this as it was one of my first things to check, but it appears to be getting worse. Is this normal? Can someone check theirs? It only does it in neutral with no load on the driveshaft. I have another NV 273 from a 6.0 and I am told the input shaft is bigger than the V10. That is why I havent tried it. I got it from a guy that has a 99V10 and he tried using it but it didnt move when he put it in and put it in gear. I used the rear output housing on mine with no change. If the play is not supposed to be there, I suppose it is the large bearing in the rear of the TC. Does this sound right? It (TC) has to come out anyway as it is leaking where it bolts to the extension housing (bolts are tight). I am getting desperate.
