Power window/mirrors not working

I have a 02 Screw and the drivers window doesnt go up or down. All I hear is a click from the relay. All other windows work directly and remotely.I switched the relay with another one and get same results. Also my power mirrors dont work.Is this just a coincedence?

Did you check with a test light to see if there was power to the window motor?

I have power to the motor in the "up" position and no power in the "auto down" position. The relay switch only clicks in down positon. Is the problem the switch? If so can I replace the individual drivers window switch only?

Mine did the same thing when I bought my truck. I replaced the motor and the switch together.

If your relay is clicking, the switch is doing its job, but only in one position. But if the switch doesn't do nething in the other position, the switch needs to be replaced. And with your mirrors not working...? Diag.

When the switch is the problem it is usually the drivers door master switch because it gets the most useage. You can NOT replace the individual switch. It is a Master Switch Assembly. It's probably a dealer item unless you buy it from a bone yard which means it could already have the same problem as your switch. You can take the switch apart and burnish the contacts looking for the contacts that are pitted. They are rocker switches so be careful when you pop the switch body top off. Parts can go FLYING. If your careful you won't have to even buy a new switch once you put it back together and test it. Cost to you:$0 not counting your time which you had to spend anyway to remove and install a new switch assembly. You can also repair a shorted or open horn button switch in the steering wheel airbag assembly by using a doorbell button switch($5). If you buy the defective horn button switch at the dealer it costs $800.00 because it is part of the airbag assembly which you must purchase. That's a $795.00 saving. These fixes apply to ALL brands not just Ford.
