Hi, 1954 239Y, ford\holley 94 carb. 7.5 backfire valve, #53 jets.

I replaced the vaccume line from carb to dizzy with a smaller diameter one...can this cause the carb to caugh/backfire more when it's cold at startup due to the vaccume line collapsing itself? Or do I just need to advance the timimg a little?
