c4 problem

I just bought another truck..... yeah I know.

anyway it was a c4 in it, which I have never worked with.
There are the two pipes that are used for the tranny cooler pass side, and there is one pipe that looks like it goes to the top pass side, almost near the starter.

When I bought the truck and they shut it down there was ATF leaking from that pipe.
Any idea what it goes to?

Thanks,
Drew

Does the C4 have a vacuum modulator like the C6? Those can leak, and if the tube is hanging instead of being connected to the carb or manifold, it will leak there, and shifting will be at higher rpms and a hard shift, iirc.

yeah it does. C4 apparently has the vac mod on the driver side rear. I wonder if this is just an overflow of sorts....

I dunno, I'm back to work offshore, I'll figure it out in a month when I get home again.

I think the tube you're describing is a vent. Does it point down? If so, it could have been over-filled or the trans may be toast and it's overheating and puking fluid out.

yeah, points down.
It was leaking when I recieved the truck.

Well, i've rebuilt c6's, I doubt the c4 is much different, shouldn't cost much to do.
I'll have to mess around with it when I get home.

thanks everyone,
Drew
