Don't think anyone has reported doing a change of the coolant yet. To the best of my knowledge the only one would by ruschejj as he is the only one over 100K that reports in. I think he has someone else do his work though.

I have not serviced my coolant at all, running past 110K this week. And yes, I take my truck to the dealer for service. I spend most of my free time restoring an old car

My advice would to just go to your Ford dealer and ask your question. Take 'em a dozen doughnuts and chew the fat. Works in my little town.

BTW, my coolant only has about 55K miles on it. I figure it gets replaced when they install a new radiator!

Huh, didn't think about the new radiator that got put in there. I'll have to find my service report and see if there is coolant on there. If not, I'll call the service manager and ask him. He was actually pretty nice and seemed helpful last time I was there.

It was on my list to change because when I bought the truck with 49K on it the coolant was red. Now it's the normal clear / yellow looking color.

Well if get under the trucks radiator on the right side there is a little white plastic plug with an allen key slot for remove/installing it. You need to get under their especialy with a light, I unscrewed this and drained it into my 15quart oil pan. I would say I got at least 10-13 quarts out of it. Put in 2 Jugs of Ford Gold coolant and finished it off with water, I think thats somewhere around the 50/50 mix. Tech said 40/60 50/50 60/40 is all okay for long periods of time. Anything less should be adjusted to one of those ratios in like 10k miles or so. He said you can run all water if you need to, just dont do it in the winter obviously, freeze plugs dont always push out

one thing is for sure, use the gold coolant, you can buy it at ford or napa. It is premixed and has the ford spec # on it, be sure to check. If your truck had some other color I'd be concerned, but I guess that has been taken care of.
