what transmissions will work for 1978 f100

I have a 1978 ford f100 with a 302 it has a c6 but is blown I need to find a trans quick what year transmissions will fit in it and work?

Any C6 with a small-block bellhousing will fit. A C4 with a small-block bellhousing would work, but would require a longer drive shaft, I believe. It would probably be easier and quicker to just have yours rebuilt. My transmission guy can do a C6 in a day or two depending on how busy he is. And the C6 is cheap to overhaul.

I found a c4 for cheap but I thought the regular driveshaft would work?
