glad to hear you got it out. i tried the "old faithful" trick with 2 gps and no dice. but im sure someone has gotten lucky with this problem in a 7.3. rog, becareful with that carpet idea... we've got almost 400 psi in there. i used 3" angle just to be safe and held the rpms up pretty high when i tried. mythbusters should try it!!!

Bear in mind that I have yet to experience a stuck GP. I was just passing along what I had been told/read. I further think that I had read on another forum where the valve cover was replaced prior to high revs. Can't recall if it produced a large dent or a hole or both when it finally let loose.

Either way what ever methodology is used I'm sure it will be better than closing the hood.
