Transfer case fluid???

What are ya'll putting in you transfer cases? I cannot find straight Mercon and I have heard not to use mer v. So what should I use? Is the Dex/mercon combo safe? Thank for any info..

I also recently filled mine with Mercon V. The TOD feature worked very smoothly yesterday. It was a rougher engagement before the change.

Where did you hear not to use V?

On the bottle it of Merc V it says don't use in transfer cases, but that is what I use and what all the dealers around here use. Mercon III isnt made anymore, so they use Mercon V

Look at the parts store for mobil synthetic transmission fluid, it covers all mercon's. I used that in my truck and it worked great.

Any quality brand A.T.F. will work fine..Dexron III, Mercon, Mercon V, etc. No need for synthetic in your t.case. It won't hurt it but it's kind of overkill.
