Question NEED SMALL STUFF

I'm currently working on a '52 F1 project that needs a few small parts for the dash etc. I need the ash tray ass. with chrome and glovebox chrome and lock. Does anybody have a source for used stuff at reasonable prices? Thanks

Hi and welcome to FTE!

I just sent all my spares to another member! It's funny how we don't hear about this stuff for awhile and all of a sudden every one needs the same thing.

The items you listed come up on e-bay regularly - maybe once or twice a month. Only the "Extra" cab variants had the glove box lock. So the cover you find may not have it. If you want it, I'd suggest you wait and buy a glove box cover with it already installed as seperate locks are prohibitavely expensive. You can take those locks up to a locksmith and have them rekeyed to match you door or ignition key.

The ash tray trim and glove box trim are chromed pot metal and whatever you get, unless it has been rechromed will probably need to be. The "dogleg" trim over the speaker cover is stainless steel. Be sure if yo buy one of these the mounting clips are included with it -they are difficult to find as well.

I will have an ash tray coming available, I'm shaving mine and sliding the speaker over to the glove box. Making room for more in-dash gauges....

Ashtray:

Third pic shows a trial "thumnail cleaning" on the top right of the chrome. Looks like it will clean up pretty decent for a driver, may have some slight imperfections for a show truck...

That's about a clean as they come! Those are pics from a "Five Star 'Extra' Cab" note the heater controls for the Magic Aire Heater (and the dangling headlight switch).

He's probably going to need to drill a few more holes in that dash and add a couple more push buttons to make everything work.

Looks perfect for my truck wish you would turn loose of all the dash trim it wouldn't need anything but installed. Cool idea about moving the speaker grill. Can you give me a email or phone number? Thanks I am really learning alot from this forum. Everyone seems so eager to help. I took some pictures of the way I've lowered a couple of these trucks, it's real easy to do. I will try to post it soon.

Frye66, when you get a few more posts under your belt the site should open up the Private Message feature. Then I can send you the info..

Lightbulb WELCOME...

..."home" FRYE...

May I suggest you set up some "search assistants" on eBay and eBay
will send you emails when those items are found...

Works fairly well...but it will also include some fairly "strange" items...

I get some crazy stuff showing up for my search for "1956 F100" sometimes...

Again...welcome to the "machine"....
