I'm sure this has been run through before but I can't find it in history. The driver's side mirror glass and positioner on my 2003 Exp. EB are broken (from backing into the garage). It is power adjustable with memory, heated and has signal and courtesy lights. Having trouble finding this part online. If I could upgrade to power folding mirrors it may prevent this from happening again but at what cost? Any thoughts, suggestions and/or links would be appreciated.
I am looking for the complete left side mirror - housing and all. Perhaps I should be lookig for just the glass and adjusting mechanism as that is all that broke.
I have a 03 XLT, my driver side mirror broke and I would like to replace. My vehicle doesn't have signal, heating, and is not power fold capable. My question is can I replace my current mirrors with the newer, power folding, signal, heated mirrors? If so what additional equipment would I have to buy and install? Is the additional equipment going to make my re-install difficult?
instructions for installing 2008 power fold mirrors
This was going to be my suggestion, but you found it. If this is what you want to do, just watch eBay for the parts.

Unless someone can give you a definite yes or no, then you would have to do a lot of digging and testing. You'd have to dig in to see if you have the proper terminal ends at the mirror and then test them to see if they're hot. If they're not there, or they are but not hot, then it would be a huge project to get everything working. Depending on how important power fold is to you, you could still install a newer set of mirrors and hook up the power fold and just not have the other features.
I replaced the mirror adjustment motor and mirror in about 15 minutes with parts from Ford ~ $125. Even at used prices it just isn't worth it to me to replace both mirrors for the power fold option.
