No crank pulley attaching bolt - should I worry?

I found out that my crank pulley attaching bolt was glued in about two months ago now. I am sure this bolt is important but it has run fine without it. But you guys know more than me and I need some information to replace it. Is it usually coarse or fine thread? The engine is a later seventies 460ci and it's in a 1987 F350. Thank you in advance.

I'm confused... Isn't there ONE kinda big bolt that holds on the harmonic balancer/vibration
dampener, e.g.:

from TMeyer, Inc. - Machine Shop Prices

but four bolts that hold the pulley to it?

There are four bolts around the edges but no larger bolt thru the center. Previous owner must have glued one in because he couldn't find the right one to install.
Thank you for your help

Not having the bolt torqued down will eventually be a very bad thing to your motor.

Before you try and replace the bolt, you've got to know why it was glued and not torqued down. Did the threads in the crankshaft strip out? Is the bolt broken off inside there? Was it the right size bolt to begin with?

You would replace it with a fine threaded bolt, I'm not sure of exact diameter. You can probably find one at a junk yard, and you want the washer as well.

If it was me, I would not try to put a replacement bolt in there without first understanding exactly why it was glued. Could be bigger problems.

If you get to the point of installing a replacement, don't forget to torque the bolt to specs.

The big bolt holds the harmonic balancer to the crankshaft, e.g.:

The four smaller bolts hold the pulley to *that* and it (the pulley) sometimes covers up the big
bolt in the center.
