I have the SP2P on my 79 Bronco with 400. It seems to run fairly well, with good low-end. Intake is only good up to about 4500rpm.

Im gettin a little bit more mpg and it seems to have better throttle response. I topped it off with a 600 Holley. I also noticed it pulls things alot better now with the intake/carb change.

Never had a Holley truck avenger style carb. I am quite pleased with my traditional 600cfm manual choke Holley though. Its been on the truck about 2 years now and I havent touched it once. I took it out of the box and put it in the truck and thats all i've done. The stock carb on the 400 was the two-barrel motorcraft 2150, which is a great carb. Mine was just wore out so I decided to switch over to a fourbarrel. Maybe somebody else will chime in later and tell you more specifics of how your engine will respond to the changes since Im basing my facts off of a 400 not a 390.
