Transmission kick down linkage - missing

Just got a new (to me) 1986 F-250 with the 6.9. Here goes...I see where others have asked in previous posts. Can someone post a clear picture of how the kick down linkage attaches to the injector pump. The truck I have does not have the kick down attached to anything! It's just zip tied off to the top of injector pump. Spoke with local Ford dealer they told me the 1986 had no kick down rod at all! Can someone please post a photo of a function kick down linkage. Thanks.
Cliff

Is it a kickdown rod you have or a cable?

Don't have a photo, but mine connects to a spot about as high, back, and to the road side (drivers side) as you can get. This is on the parts that move when you operate the throttle. There's a little post it fits on sticking out to road side with a circlip to hold it there.

ihc_v8,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.

I can't help with the automatic tranny, but someone will be along shortly that can.
