I love how the HD F-150 looks...and since my Expy EL is blacked out with chrome rims...I've been considering making my own HD Expy.
Here is what I have to work with. Notice the Reddish Leather inserts. close enought to the Harley Orange IMO for Gov't work.
I'm thinking about grabbing 3 HD Fender Emblems, and then sending them off to Billet Badges (he does awesome work...you should see some of his stuff) and having him create custom Emblems that will replicate the 2008 HD F-150 emblems...but say Expy instead.
the 22" HD rims of course...but the ones with the black inserts only, not the 100% chrome ones (see pictures below)
Then have the HD image inserts mounted into my Bucket seats, and the center console with a leather strip & emblem like the F-150 is
As a final exterior touch, the Orange Rocker/bumper stripe, and the Chrome 2" Harley Davidson lettering that came on the 2007/2008 models.
here is a 2008 HD F-150 for reference to what I'm considering
thoughts?

alright, here is a rough Photoshop. I am deploying this weekend for all of November...so I'll refine and make it prettier. but for now, I think I like it.
Not sure about the HD lettering on the rear quarter panel though.
the emblem on the door is going to be somewhat large...so it might be overkill and/or tacky to have the lettering

If the intention is to "pimp your ride" you've succeeded! The Harley Davidson model F150 has no relationship to Harley other than Ford pays a royalty to Harley to use the name. A bit more cachet than the Lambretta model even if you painted your Expedition gray and blue.

I think that it looks good....I think that you should tint the tails, if you do it. Also I think it needs a little more motivation under the hood...like the optional saleen supercharger for the harley davidson.

blower is planned...but I'm going FI on my Mustang first. After I put the FRPP Whipple in her, I think I'll give Brenspeed some business for the Saleen on the Expy. I'm still recovering from the RoushCharger and buying 2 vehicles this year though.

you sure? I thought for sure that Harley and Ford were partners from the very beginning and Henry Ford cruised the roads in an original hardtail.....FYI: sarcasm
I am well aware they share nothing in common except genius marketing and a $$$ exchange.
Every since 2001 when the first HD F-150 showed up on the scene, the HD Fords have been some of the best looking production F series IMO.
I currently own a run of the mill Expy that looks like every other 07-10 Expy. I can spend $2,000 roughly and have a 1 off Expy that looks like nothing else that everybody can purchase off the showroom floor.
and as long as I do my research and do a good job, it will look like a Factory vehicle.
You may not like 'em, but I do. And I'm not alone in this I think. A few guys on another forum have already given me a few great ideas I hadn't even considered.
we'll see though. I fly out tonight, so it'll be Christmas roughly before I can put any of this into action. Take it easy
