Ignition wiring help

I've got a 1982 ford F-150 with a 302 . I was wondering if there is a wiring diagram for just a basic ignition for it. Like no EEC or any thing that has to deal with that, old school i guess. I just don't want the hassle of all the wiring most of it is gone any way. or is there a way to just to get it going with out all that stuff. Thank you -Kyle

ctubutis has a good reputation on FTE. ctubutis has a good reputation on FTE.
Only thing I can think of is to go spend several hundred dollars on an aftermarket ignition
system, or maybe a 1960s or early 1970s points-based system.

Hey oldcrow,

There might be some reading material in this forum that could help you. This link is to the Tech Tips section;
Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - View Single Post - '80-'86 Tech Tips, Tricks and Projects:

On that page are some general wiring diagrams that might help. I would probably choose Duraspark II conversion instead of points. I think they are easier to find in the junkyard, but that's just me. There's a diagram from the general wiring section of Tech Tips.

Here's a decent picture of basic engine wiring using points, if that helps. The link takes you off this forum.

Good luck.
