Overdrive button

My shifter OD cap was missing when I got the truck. I found one in LMC as well as ebay. Looks like I have to buy the whole thing instead of just then end cap.

How involved is it to take it out and replace? And directions?

The same caps were missing when I bought 2 trucks, an 02 F150 and an 01 F250. A walk through the pick a part yard and I was set. The end cap just clips in place and when knocked might break a tab. Easy fix. Walk through a yard looking at all fords till you find a match.
