Ok, got a crazy idea for my 7.3 IDI....Doing a motor swap into a 95 F350

Well, I've been thinking of something to do with my 7.3 out of my 88 short of blowin her up for the fun of it, and I know where is 95 4dr dually F350 is with a seized Powerstroke. The truck has an E4OD in it.

What would I need to do the swap, cuz I can get the 95 which is a clean clean truck for less than 500. Does the PS E4OD have the seperate trans computer like the IDI's or does it use the PS computer?

Pretty sure it uses one single computer for trans and engine. I'm sure there are ways to fool it into working with a mechanical diesel, but thats beyond my knowledge. The folks up at the powerstroke section might know.

why would you ruin a powerstroke truck by putting a idi in it?

because he already has an IDI on hand, and can score the 95 truck cheap.
sometimes its about $.especially during a rescission.
a good running powerstroke would probably cost more than he can get the truck for.and for $500,the truck may not be worth a few grand to get a motor anyway.though,it may be worth his time to install his good running IDI.
he just needs to know what it would take,so he can decide if any extra parts etc would be worth his time and $ for the swap.
least it seems this way to me lol.
(you may of just been joking, and i ruined your joke lol.sorry)

Mine does pretty good, but thats with stock tires, 2wd and OD............then again not all trucks were created equal.
