Ford 9" drain plug damage

Ford 9" rear end.... I rounded out the female plug with my ratchet extension, any suggestions short of welding something on to it to release it? I need to replace my pinion seal and managed to bugger up the square fitting in the plug.

Cabby, here's an ida that may help you:
You need to make a round hole square. Try using a Dremel tool to square up your round hole and then grind a piece of steel shock to grab your new square hole. This trick worked for me in the past though not in a rear end plug.
