I have a 2002 Ford E-450 V10, 30' Class C RV. I called Mike at 5 Star Tuning and explained that I was looking for any possibilities of squeezing even .5 mpg more out of the beast and to correct the sluggish feel of the 4R100 trans when it shifts. Mike set me up with an X3 with 1 tune. 87 octane - always under load - corrected shift points as well as pressures. All I can say is WOW! Mike gets 5+ stars for customer service from my first call to responding to an email question over the weekend when I was uploading the custom tune.
Unlike a few others on this forum, I have no desire to spin pretzels with my duallys. I have a feeling that I will get my money back from the purchase of the X3 in the first year in fuel savings and the pure fun of the torque it now has going up hills.
I guess I am gonna have to try and sell the Hypertech that came with my truck, just so I can buy from Five Star. I wonder how much differance in power there is between the 2 brands.
Glad to see you are getting great results. The only bad thing about a tuner from 5 star is when you load up the 91 perf/tow tune and subsequently spin the tires with your camper hooked up to the truck and you end up in Mama's doghouse for the rest of the day. Don't ask me how I know.
I wonder how much difference there is between 5stars tuning with an x3 and the Banks tuner for an rv.

I want one, I'd like to see the torque management nonsense erased somewhat and see how my stick shift equiped truck performs afterwards! I tow/haul, and would like to have a cable like reaction from the throttle body instead of the PCM delayed reaction from this drive by wire stuff.
Enjoy,
