HEI conversion distributer

I'm getting ready to put a rebuilt 302 into my 87 f-150 and the engine has an HEI ditributer. How much rewiring wil i have to do? and how many wires will i need out of the birds nest on my left fender well. i'd like to make this truck as simple as possible. any suggestions, advice or information will be appreciated. thanks

If this is a aftermarket HEI unit, then all you have to do is run at least a 12 gauge wire to the ignition switch or a hot in run in the fuse box. This will work better than using the smaller factory hot wire for power.
