97 Explorer AWD trans swap.

I have a 97 Explorer that has lost OD. I can get a complete parts explorer with a good transmission. I would like to do the swap in my garage. I do not have a hoist, but have a couple of floor jacks, one of them is fairly big.

Is it possible to do this swap by lifting the vehicle as high as possible on jackstands and getting it out from underneath? Looks like the exhaust has to come out among other things.

Any advise?

Thanks.

Well go for it, I made a tranny cradle to fit my floor jack, you can find them for about 50.00
makes things easier.

Amazon.com: Transmission Jack Adapter Trani for Floor Jack: Home Improvement

Service the tranny while it is out, blow out the lines, and make sure the converter is good.
