Diesel smell around and in truck....

I have an 08 F-550 with the 6.4. It only has round 14,000 miles on it as of now. For around the last 1,500 to 2,000 miles I have been getting from time to time a raw diesel smell both in the cab during travel, as well as outside the truck when parked. I have checked under the hood and can find no leaks. Have looked under the truck for leaks, but have found notta. I did notice the other day when I crawled under the truck that it looked like maybe there had been some diesel that somehow may have run along the frame rail. This is from a point under rail mounted fuel filter and forward, which is weird because the frame rail at that points begins an up hill grade.

Any ideas or know of any other like problems that may lead me in the right direction?
Thanks

Only time it ever happens to me is when the fuel filters are changed. The one under the cab and the one under the hood on top of the motor. I have not heard of any situations other than fuel filter service that would cause your problem.

This could be leaking exhaust system clamps.

have your checked your oil level as part of trying to hunt this down? Wondering if maybe there is some leaks up around that area as well?

Just something I would check.
