Question Help with overhead

A friend has a 99 Explorer Limited with sun/moon roof and overhead console. I need to remove the console and don't want to remove it in pieces. The console has the "Homelink" garage door system so no tray or door to open to remove two screws and then the console.

So could anyone give me the information for overhead console removal???

Please and Thankyou;

I looked in the service manual and there are no remove/install instructions. The only thing in the manual are programming instructions and t-shooting. Sorry I couldn't help.

Thanks for looking! I have tried to Google it and not having any luck. Abody shop diagram or parts department schematic will probably be my best bet now. I would rather work on my Excursion than the smaller SUVs.

Try here. You may need to register but that is very simple. Ask in the Ford techs forum.

Put your hand up next to the windshield, grasp the console and pull it down from the spring clips underneath. You may need to move the edgetrim from around the moonroof aperture a little where it covers the other end of the console.
