F-350 with 250 bed?

Right now I am looking at a F-350 its gotta be inbetween 67 and 72. when i go over to his house to take a better look at it i will get the year. But only one problem It has a utility bed on it and i would rather have a style side bed on it. Will a style side bed from a f-100 or a f-250 of the same year fit if i tub it out for the duallys?

As far as I know it will fit. I replaced the utility bed on my 67 f350 with a bed from a 70 f100 and it bolted right up.

For the most part series distinctions are all below the chassis, sheet metal is common. So as long as your 350 is a 4 wheel truck and not a dually, a F100 bed will fit.

It is a dually though. so a f100 or f250 bed wont fit?

It WILL FIT but you will have to modify the wheel wells on the bed and come up with some sort of fender for the outside wheel. The Dual wheels are the problem....not the F-100/F-350 Bed you can bolt onto the frame...............

Alright I dont really think the wheels stick out farther then the body would. but i cant really tell because the bed thats on it right now. And if i need fenders I guess i can try and get some bushwacker fenders when i lift it up. probaly gona be lifted 4 1/2 inches not much more then that and some better all terain tires.

And if i dont feel like dealing with that ill probaly swap axles with my freind. Thats if he wants the duallys.

Dog, If you have to modify the bed by cutting huge access well holes, it does not fit.

When something fits, you place it and bolt it down, not cut it all to hello.

Ford did not offer an F350 with 4WD until 1979.

Ford did not offer a Styleside pickup with dual rear wheels until 1980, F350 only thru 1984.

Ford did not offer any Flareside pickup with dual rear wheels.

1979 and earlier F350's with dual rear wheels were only sold as a Cab & Chassis, or with a factory installed Flat Bed or Stake Bed, or as an Open Drive-Away.

F250's were not available with dual rear wheels until 1985, and then only for a short time.

Any 1967/72 F100/350 (bumpside) Styleside 8' bed will fit another like 1967/72 F100/350...as long as the F350 chassis does not have dual rear wheels.

I wasnt sure if it was 4x4. I want to put a style side on it instead of the utility bed on it.

On the topic of 4x4 how hard would it be to make it a 4x4? and im still not completely sure of what all this thing has. I might take a look at it this weekend and if i dont want it i know of a f100 around here i belive its a f 100.

Welcome to FTE

1967/72: The first three digits of the VIN define the series, 2WD or 4WD.

F10 or F17 = F100 2WD // F11 or F18 = F100 4WD.

F25 or F27 = F250 2WD // F26 or F28 = F250 4WD.

F35 = F350
------------
F100's have 5 lug wheels on a 5.50" bolt circle.

F250/350's have 8 lug wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle.

If the truck is an F350, it does not have 4WD...as original.

Thanks for the information. I know its a f-350 because of the duallys. How can i figure out what the engine size is from the vin number?

Hi guys you dont have to figure this one out anymore because i saw this f150 ranger on one of the back roads around my house and i called the number the guy wants 250 for it! It has a 6 cyl and its gona take alot less work then the f-350 my freind has. so this thread can be locked if you guys do that here.

Uh...if it's an F150, the Styleside bed is different than what 1967/72's used.

No F150's until 1975. The entire truck has different styling after 1972. These trucks are refered to as "dentsides."

The 4th digit of the VIN is the engine code...but considering engine swaps, who knows what's in there today?

1967: A = 240 I-6 // B = 300 I-6 // Y = 352 2V.

1968/72: A = 240 I-6 / B = 300 I-6 // G = 302 2V (1969/72 F100 ONLY) // H = 390 2V // Y = 360 2V.
