Talking distributor noise?

ITS ALIVE!!!!!! I got the new motor finally all put back together, adjusted the valves 4 times, all thats left to do is put the rest of the valve cover bolts and throw the hood back on and she'll be all ready for the road. The new junkyard motor runs real smooth, I'm impressed with it. Now for my problem though, if its a problem: A few weeks ago I put on an MSD blaster II coil and hooked it up to 12 volts. The truck wouldnt start, but there was a "door ajar buzzer" type noise coming from the engine. I hooked it back up to the factory 6 volt coil wire and the truck started fine. Well tonight while I was tuning I just had the key on and was using a dead man switch in the engine bay and as soon as the key was on I noticed that noise again. Turns out its coming from my distributor... Now never in my life have I heard any distributor make a door ajar buzzer noise so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas? 'ppreciate it

May be arcing off? What ignition setup are you running? That appears to be a mid 70s ford in your picture. Ford stoped using 6V in 55'. Are you talking about the resistor wire?

I had the buzzing sound once on the old 77 I had. I could hear it from the distributor. I just started unplugging connections and found that the starter relay was bad. I replaced it and didn't have any more problems. Mine did it when the truck was turned off.
