if the TPS is out of adjustment the PCM will not like that and may flash the OD light. To adjust the TPS (also known as FIPL) you have to first warm up the truck, then shut the engine off and put the ignition back on (engine stays off), stick the positive lead of a voltmeter on the middle hole of the TPS plug, put the negative lead of the voltmeter on the negative post of one battery, and measure voltage - you should have no less than 1.0V at idle and no more than 4.5V at wide open throttle (move the throttle arm on the passenger-side of the IP by hand). Loosen mounting screws for TPS bracket and turn the whole thing as needed to get the proper voltages, then tighten screws back down. Many folks recommend setting it to where you have 1.1V at idle.

HOLY FREEKING YAY! that makes me happy. i finaly got to adjust the tps this morning, and the flashing light stopped
i adjusted it to 1.05 at idle just for kicks, and it only went up to 3.2? is the low voltage towards full throttle going to be an issue? or does it not matter since its going to be full throttle?
i notice my shift schedual is weird for me as it holds gears for just a couple rpm's higher before shifting, but thats good.
thanks though that was super helpfull

Glad to help out - now please add to my rep

The 3.2V thing - you're essentially limited by how much your throttle arm can turn, there are two set screws on it, one for the idle speed and one for the max throttle, it's recommended that you don't mess with the WOT screw. So I'd suggest that you wait till your engine is all warmed up and then adjust your idle engine speed (shoot for 600-650 rpms), then readjust the TPS so it shows 1.1V at idle, and see where the WOT voltage may fall, and leave it be.

Ivan, I didn't recognize you with the new avatar. I was thinking, who's the new E4OD guru? *reads name* oh, right. I know him.

"holy freakin'yay!"

Never heard that one before lol.

3.2 seems a little low for full power setting but it sounds like is shifting properly for your base TPS setting. Hope this gets it working once and for all.

Haha David, since many folks put their trucks in their avatars, I figured follow suit. And yeah, 3.2V does seem a bit low, but it's awful close to the minimum recommended WOT voltage of 3.3V (if I remember correct), so I figured he'll be alright.

archangel is new and has a neutral reputation at this point.
Also, if the voltage is out of spec, it might not set the trans pressure at the proper pressure and you might have longevity issues.

To much or not enough pressure at the wrong time is not good.

Verified 19 mpg city taking off slow as hell the shutting down at red lights, and with the radiator grill blocked flush, no bed cover, "drag shoot" mirrors on I get 24 mpg at 50 to 55 mph on the freeway empty!
However, with a bed cover, no mirrors and Hydroxy
