Pictures from the last week
Thought I'd throw up some pictures here to spark up some good discussions.
These are just pictures from my last endevor. Im' going to make a video for the gauges and stuff. I installed them a bit diff then everyone else. I'm sure everyone would like other options.
In here I got a picture showing the difference between an AA and AO injector. We were talking about it in a different thread.
You can see the oil ports are in different locations on both. There is one AO, and the other 2 are AA's.
And you can check out my old injectors on the bench. all but number 8.
I wish somebody had an explanation for the ring on the end of the injector.
Only 3 of them were like this.
I noticed no cup wear inside. I checked with the flashlight.
Just for anyone wondering what the hell i'm talking about.
I installed Isspro Boost and EGT gauge. They are Ev2's with the dimmer kit.
if you buy the ev2's make sure to get the dimmer kit. otherwise you'll have to get some wire for the gauge power, dimmer and ground.
Also
Rosewood Stage 1's
ZD-11 glow plugs.
PHP 6 Pos Tuner.

New Injectors!!!
And Some wiring stuff.
I installed the boost sensor on the Spider on the back.
I encourage others to do it here. The metal was pretty thick, and there is a flat spot on the back of the stock spider like something was meant to be installed here.
I asked Neal where he ran his wires for his truck though, and it was though the gasser throttle cable hole.
Pop the sucker off with a screw driver and drill out the center.
I also installed a grommet in mine and had to lube the wires to get them though, it was a tight squeeze!

Anyone else with a 94 have their vacuum box like this?
The newer trucks have it bolted onto the side of the airbox. Mine was epoxied on. Stock. I broke the seal. And the airbox.
I think I might install a regular vacuum can in there for fun. Or something.
The stock one sucked anyways.
I just plugged off the line until I figure out how to fix it all.
And also, a tool list for you all.
These are all the tools you need to install injectors and glow plugs.
I don't remember all the numbers.
10mm and 1/2 inch.
and a few others.
The swivel is important, and the extensions just make it easier. I broke them loose with wrench and took them off with impact so i didn't have to screw around for an hour with the wrench. I put them back in with impact after starting them by hand.
I just noticed I forgot the rubber hose in the picture. Ooops.
I used a long one, and a 1/4 inch drive for my impact. I'd braek em loose, then throw the hose on and then jam the impact in the other end. I turned them off and on like that.

Hey William nice pics wonder if you can just screw a vacuum box on from a newer model mine on my 96 looks just the same but is screwed in with plain ol machine screws.
Also the rings you see at the bottom of your old injectors is compression marks from compression leaking past the small copper washer on the end of the injector.

Why would they be compression leaks when it looks like a fluid leak? Looks like fluid settles in there. A compression leak would blow past the o-rings in my thoughts.
No, I cannot screw a newer one up there.
The side of the box is damaged from ripping the other one off. I had to use the prybar and a hammer and a good paint scraper.

I'll let you know one.
If you take a drink, take a picture. =)
Takes me seconds to take pictures. I got a nice camera and know how to use it.
I forget sometimes also though. I wanted to take pics of tapping the manafold for everyone. Didn't even bring the camera that day. haha.

I've had it setting here.
This is my pivot and clutch rod end.
This is a great example of why to replace it.
Unfortunately, the damage has been done to reverse, and the bushings are a little screwed up. Now If I could keep my foot in the clutch long enough. I wont pop any teeth out shifting. With the f150 i could have the clutch half way out before popping it into gear. the PSD isn't that forgiving with the big flywheel.

Heim joint secrets.
Well. I know a few things about these sorta deals.
And, I'm quite a detail kinda guy.
And. well, They didn't really think somebody would notice I spose.
I figured out how they are making the rod end repair joints.
It was threaded, they just drill it out with a hand drill, and put a set screw in it.
You can see in the picture, there are a smidgen of threads left on the inside.
and you can see the point mark from the Drill in the bottom. (not pictured)
My set screw is a bit crooked too, had a bitch of a time getting the alan in there, cause I put it in upside down. Ooops!
Make sure you file the rod end to make it round. And make sure you don't forget to do it before you put the master back in the truck.
I had all intentions of doing it outside, and forgot.
